by Gal Bishop

Near the beginning of each summer do you seem to find yourself asking how to get rid of cellulite on your hips and thighs?

Cellulite is troubling for many people, especially for women. With nearly 90 percent suffering from it to some degree, cellulite on the legs, especially, is one area of frustration and embarrassment for many.

Although many people have surgery to eliminate cellulite, it’s usually not required or even recommended. Not surprisingly, diet and exercise can help to reduce cellulite in the legs, as well as all over the body.

So, the fact of the matter is you don’t need to spend a lot of money on cellulite reducing procedures. You can forego invasive procedures along with any other drastic measure you may be thinking about. Although some widely available treatments will work in the beginning, you generally will need to continue using them for long-term results. Permanent solutions are just not that easy.

Diet And Exercise Continue To Help Get Rid Of Cellulite

Fat burning activities along with resistance training is the best way to smooth and firm the skin. Care must be taken, however, if you experience issues with your joints or have had previous injuries.

If think you’re out of shape or have problems with your joints, water activities might be the safest alternative for you - and they can help get rid of that cellulite on your legs. Here’s an example of a possible workout:

Walking in water - this type of exercise is deadly to those cottage cheese thighs but is less harful to the joints than traditional exercise options. You’re less likely to injure yourself which will result in more frequent and pleasurable workouts. Begin by getting into the water about waist deep and then start walking as fast as you can. Keep your arms bent at your side and pumping as if you were power-walking down the sidewalk.

Try to perform this workout 2 or 3 times each week and once it gets easy, progress into deeper water. You might also want to add water weights to get an upper body workout for an added challenge.

For those who love the water and want to understand how to get rid of cellulite, this exercise plan is a great place to start. And because it’s fun, you’ll be more likely to stick with it until you see results too!
